Professor Jean Régis
Prof Jean Régis is a distinguished Neurosurgeon and Professor of Neurosurgery at Aix-Marseille University (Marseille, France). He serves as Head of the Department of Stereotactic, Functional Neurosurgery, and Radiosurgery at La Timone University Hospital.
His research is conducted within INSERM UMR 1106, where he focuses on cerebral cortex gyration modeling and predictive neurosurgery using The Virtual Brain platform. His research work spans radiosurgery, functional neurosurgery, epilepsy, and temporal lobe surgery, integrating magnetic resonance imaging, microsurgical techniques, and the treatment of central nervous system diseases to advance patient care and precision neurosurgery worldwide. He is also an active reviewer for numerous leading international journals.
Clinically, Professor Régis’s work centers on advanced neuroimaging techniques and the functional applications of radiosurgery in the treatment of neurological disorders.
Professor Régis has held several prominent leadership roles, including Vice President of the European Association of Neurological Societies, President of the International Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery Society, and he currently serves as President of the World Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery.
